Self Consciousness

Being self conscious is being apart from yourself.

You try to separately process each action and thought before committing to it.

You carve out a space in your own consciousness and sit there and judge.

But it is a rudimentary way to be aware of some of your own behavior.

It is an attempt to be more self aware.

But you only tend to see what you focus on and everything else gets blurred so in the end you probably see less.

I disagree. I think being self-conscious isn't seeing only part and not a whole, I think it's seeing the whole and beyond, exaggerating every detail and not being content with any of it.

With sight comes the burden of seeing.

I desperately want say something about this but I feel like I would embarrass myself to death.

Barb,
hmm, I usually feel limited when I'm feeling self conscious, like fewer options are available, so I associate it with seeing less. I guess we probably experience a little differently. Thank you for stopping by and commenting.

Mike,
Would love to hear, but of course, given my vast readership (probably upwards of 3) I can understand any reluctance to risk embarrassment.
