Why I really don't feel like getting Christmas gifts this year

How much of the conflict we suffer from
is created entirely in our own minds?
What happens when we start to step back?
When we refuse to go along for the ride?
It becomes easier and easier to turn down the noise
But then you start to see what it has been hiding
And it is cold, dark, and hard.

Hope you're ok.

"...created entirely in our own minds."

Relating as well.

Perhaps this year we should all find the courage to create new meanings for Christmas by stepping back, refusing to go along, acknowledging the hidden... and shine a little light, be that little light instead of cursing the darkness.

Your light is powerful, Ethan- it is felt by many, many surrounding you. Find the joy at your center (you are here, now)and give from here, now- witnessing the darkness giving way to the beauty and sacredness of your simply being.

i like your poetry. it's ironic to me that poetry so well captures a feeling and yet the simplest and truest of feelings are the least poetic. :)

Barbara/Layla, I'm ok. Thanks for stopping by.

Isaiah/Tommy, I always feel a light in your words. Thank you.

Anonymous, glad I have a fan, and your observation is very true, thank you for sharing it. :)

hey, searching for the light myself- it has been a particularly dark holiday season for me as well so... searching and assuming the better angel and unique light in us all.

Paul, could you elaborate on your comment, or do I get to wonder until I figure it out for myself. Either way, thanks for stopping by!
